Capillary electrophoresis and other electromigration methods, particularly in the following fields:
- Preconcentration and preseparation procedures for analysis of samples with complex matrices
- Theory to understand and predict the properties of separation systems, samples and matrices
- Methodology used to reach maximum separation efficiency and sensitivity
- Development and applications of microextraction techniques based on phase interfaces in analyses of samples with complex matrices
- Coupling of sample treatment to CE instrumentation for direct analysis of samples with complex matrices
